Queensland Rail in the Community

Queensland Rail is passionate about community involvement and is a railway industry leader for practical, innovative ways of working with communities. Much of this is delivered through our involvement in a wide range of programs and events which bring our business together with our customers, schools, not for profit organisations and Queensland communities.

In 2007 we were awarded the Highly Commended award for the UITP Most Effective Passenger Transit Marketing campaign.

In 2008 we were officially recognised in Queensland Parliament for an extraordinary contribution to community service while delivering the Indooroopilly station upgrade project.

In 2009 Positive pARTnerships and Norman Park State School were the Queensland State winners of the Australian Business Arts Foundations (ABaF) Toyota Community Award for their collaboration in the station beautification project at Norman Park station.

We were also a state and national award winners of  the 2010 PRIA Queensland Award for Excellence in the category of Corporate Social Responsibility for our Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) Community Engagement Program.

Most recently, in 2011, our Positive pARTnerships program received AbaF 2011 Good Practice Recognition, specifically for the beautification project atKingston station.

The Community Education program was also a finalist for the 2011 Premier's Awards for Excellence in Public Service Delivery.
