Track Closures 

Please pardon our progress as we build you a better network. To maintain a high standard of safety and reliability across our train network, sometimes we need to close the lines to complete maintenance and upgrade works. Unfortunately, this means that when we close these lines you may experience delays in the time it takes you to get where you want to go. We do our best to keep this to a minimum but it is necessary to ensure your safety.

How is planned track work managed and scheduled?

Planned maintenance and upgrade work is managed through a program called the Scheduled Corridor Access System (SCAS). SCAS involves the closure of a section of our network at planned times throughout the year. These closures allow for construction and preventative maintenance work to be undertaken.

During a closure, the train network is split into several zones to help ensure we limit disruptions to as few customers as possible.

• Northgate to Shorncliffe
• Northgate to Gympie North
• Bowen Hills to Ferny Grove
• Corinda to Rosewood, including Richlands
• Corinda to Northgate
• Dutton Park to Varsity Lakes
• Dutton Park to Cleveland

Minor track closures

In addition to the SCAS program, Queensland Rail may need to schedule additional, partial line closures for minor maintenance, urgent works, or projects which affect the safe operation of trains (such as bridge works over our train lines).

The following calendar aims to provide advanced notice for event organisers, and lists all closures greater than 12 hours long. It does not cover evening/late night closures for which alternate transport arrangements (including buses) are provided for customers.

Event organisers

The calendar aims to give organisers more information to forward plan their events.

We try to give as much notice as possible of track closures, but our works schedule can be affected by issues outside of our control, including severe weather. These can change the required dates for track closures. Queensland Rail recommends event organisers contact our Community Engagement team on (07) 3235 3626, to register your event so we can ensure you are kept up to date with any changes.

Status key

	These closures are confirmed. Significant pre-planning has gone in to scheduling these works. Event organisers are encouraged to immediately contact Queensland Rail on 3072 2180 to confirm alternative transport arrangements are in place.
	Community Event organisers are encouraged to immediately contact Queensland Rail when planning a community event that relies upon Queensland Rail Services.

Unless otherwise specified, closures will affect all services on that day.
